Oyster River and Owls

I am so sorry for my absence from blogging as I took most of October off to rest and we did travel to the Oyster River a few times.  I will include below some photos of the sky at the mouth of the Oyster River where we camped near Campbell River, B.C.

It is O Week at the ABC Meme so I am doing the Oyster River and some Owls today.  I hope you enjoy my little sample of some of the photos I took of the sunset.

I am trying out the Panoramic option on my little camera.

For the O week at ABC meme so I will include some owl pictures from earlier on in the year.

The owl saw a dog here.

Here is an Osprey on the nest.

I found an eagle on the lamp post out at Ogden Point.

A cruise ship at Ogden Point below.

I hope all my bloggers are having a great week and I hope to get back on my usual blogging schedule soon and will visit you all and catch up on all the news in the blog world. I am having trouble with my eyes so it is hard to be on the computer for any length of time now.

Don't forget to check out my twitter page, my facebook page, my youtube site.
Thank you to these memes for allowing bloggers to share their story.  I may not remember to enter them all but I still list them for others and as this is the quick way for me to do it.

  7. So very glad you are back Nora and, I hope, well rested. I too took some time off after my dear old Prof. left, what with funeral arrangements and doing my best to mitigate the grandchildren's grief, there was little time left for blogging.
Nesting Ospreys and beautiful owls as well as sunsets. What a lot of beauty you experienced. Thank you for sharing it once more with the rest of us.

  15. HI Nora Hope you had a good rest. These shots are all great however (for me) number 3 is my favorite only because your copyright is small and at the bottom, not distorting or distracting the great photos you take. Some of the other copyrights are all through the girls eyes. I know why you add copyright however may I suggest you put it somewhere that it is not catching the viewers eyes first.

    1. Hi Margaret, So glad you brought this up,I guess it has been a while since I explained why my watermark is so large! I put the large watermark copyright very large on purpose as all my photos were stolen once and used on another blog and it was difficult to stop this copy blog for a long time. Also many people have told me they like to download all my photos to use as some time. I am not a fan of this unless the blogger has asked permission from me first. Over the years I have had some great experiences with bloggers and many of us have had some negative experiences as well. Once my blog, Google account, picasa was even locked by Blogger for a month as someone had put some spam on it.. You have to know what html you are using and what comments to publish as well. Once my photos and blog were hijacked republished and used with NOT nice (porn) advertisement on the blog!!! I could go on forever with the dumb things that happen to bloggers. Many people have had their blogs taken over, their photos reused on other blogs, and even their Google account taken. My first blog and photos were taken over by some other blogger. There is always some scam going on. Once I Googled my photo link and found someone in Germany was using all my Picasa photo links as their own. I take great glee and joy in knowing that my photos are mostly not usable with the large copyright on them. It is not as if my photos are any good but they do belong to me. I will take into consideration that you like the smaller watermark and do that once in a while but I do enjoy putting that large watermark overtop of people.

  18. Gorgeous photos of the scenery, the owls and the osprey. No need to ever apologize for when you blog ... blogging should be on your terms, not the terms that other sites set.

  26. Welcome back, Nora. Sorry about your eye condition and hope you have improvement. Your photos remind my of our small boat cruise all around BC. It is so beautiful. I have not been watermarking my photos and they have turned up in various places (Google can find them for you), often innocent but sometimes in advertisements-- no porn so far! Of course it is possible to removed the watermarks with software.
