Still Travelling Vancouver Island, B.C.

Hello again.  I am still travelling and posting from the laptop.  I feel terrible that I have not been able to comment on each of your blogs but I promise I will be home soon and will visit each of you.  I truly appreciate that you have stuck with me and are still following me. I am so happy to read your comments.  Thanks so much to my readers, my followers and blogging friends.
Kite surfer at Incinerator Rock, Long Beach area.

As I post to you now I am sitting in our trailer next to the ocean at sunset at a wonderful rv site that I will post about in a later blog because I really really like it!! It is the Salmon Point RV Resort and Marina just out of Campbell River. I have not uploaded the photos of it yet. Will do so later. It is an amazing place to go to and I will blog more on it when I get home.

I am just going to randomly post a lot of pictures today for the ABC meme and all the others.  We are at the letter "K" today.  These are some shots from our recent travels and a mix of oldies.  I forgot most of my files at home and all the videos are at home.  Here are some of the "K" photos that I could find.  Hope you like them.

Killdeer for the birding memes this week.  Sorry I am so late.

We had another great encounter with a bear today...can't wait to show you that video!! We were crossing a bridge and did not know the rather large bear was just below us until he made a lot of loud bear noises.  Yikes!!! More Killdeer photos below.

Various killer whales.

(ooops this is a humpy, humpback whale above playing with some sea lions)
This is the plaque they made for Luna the whale, it is at Muchalat.  It is really an interesting story but sad ending for Luna.
These are the whales at Quadra Island.

Below is the Koksilah River.

This is the Uchuck at Muchalat.
Below is my favorite picture of Muchalat.  This is the end of this blog and I have to watch the sunset from the beach now.

Thank you to these memes for allowing bloggers to share their story.  I may not remember to enter them all but I still list them as this is the quick way for me to do it.   Cheers to you all and hope you have a happy week.

Campbell River, B.C. Area

We have been travelling around Vancouver Island at remote places for the last few weeks so I have not had Internet. I have just been able to read a few blogs on the laptop when I was able to get online in some of the towns we passed through. Above is a shot of the sunset from our campsite on the first night.
Boat dock at Sayward, B.C. giving me some great reflection shots.

I tried to do a quick blog but was discouraged when the Internet was really slow in the small town I was in.  I collected a lot of photos and video as we went up and down the island and can use them on the blog later when winter sets in.
Quadra Island: totem outside of the Nuyumbalees Center at Cape Mudge Village near Quathiaski Cove. This is an incredible place to go and I will do more on it later on.

Sorry I have been missing from commenting on each of your blogs, I usually comment on each of my readers blogs and will be back to normal as soon as our travel time comes to an end. I have had a bit of time to check in on a few bloggers and will read back on the blogs I missed out on. I feel that I am really lost without my blogging and my blogging friends.

These are some of the shots I gathered on our trips.
Whales off of Quadra Island put on a great show for us.
Campbell river Dock reflections for Weekend Reflections.
Quinsam River Fish Hatchery
These are mostly pink salmon as they had a huge run of pinks. I had the most wonderful time at the hatchery because I met a bear! Yup I finally got a bear video to show you later when I upload it. Up close too.

Campbell River docks.  As you can see the weather was great and it was very hot for this time of year, so it was a good time to camp out.

I may not enter all these memes but this is the only way I can still join and not spend too much time on the computer for my eyes. Thanks so much to the meme hosts who put on each of the following amazing memes for bloggers to join in and share their work.

The memes for this weekend are:
Sky Watch Friday
Fabulous Friday
Weekend Reflections
Best Post of the Week
Scenic Sunday
Straight Out of the Camera
Weekly Top Shot

Immature Immense Birds

My idea for today is a collection of images using the letter "i". There are lots of images to use from my island so here we go. I participate in a meme called ABC Wednesday and we are at the letter "i".
First we will do some immature birds.
immature Eagle

immature Downy Woodpecker

Pileated Woodpecker immature
Immature geese and ducks

Immature Great Horned Owl

Immature Stilts
Identical
These birds seem identical to me, some peeps and Caspian Terns and Gulls.
Even sunflowers seem identical sometimes.
How about immense for this momma whale and her new baby that was just born. Captain Ron got this shot a few weeks ago and he got to see the new baby play with all the other whales.  Sadly I was not there!
Sea Lions are pretty immense and make it difficult for the lighthouse keeper to get up his stairs lately or get into his shed.  What to do.  It is a big problem.
Some horses are very immense.

Some trees at Cathedral Grove are really really immense.

I have some explaining to do ...I have not been able to be on the internet so I have not been visiting your sites...I am very sorry....I will appear soon.  I have been away and have not been able to enter the memes and I am too late for most of them now.  I am taking a little blog break but hope to be back to blogging soon.

Thank you to these memes for allowing bloggers to share their story.  I may not remember to enter them all but I still list them as this is the quick way for me to do it.   It is the letter "i" at ABC Wednesday.
